Tips and tricks that you can use to manage your time effectively

Have you ever been in a situation where you have only a limited amount of time left to the deadline of a pending assignment or project that you start to feel stressed? If so then you probably have a problem with time management

Here are a couple of tips and tricks that you can use to assist you in managing your time properly:

Plan ahead

Take some time to reflect on your day/week and write down everything that you plan to do or achieve. By doing this you are able to have an idea of how much time to allocate to each task and find out which one will require more of your attention.

Track your time

In order to fix something or improve it, you need to take the time to know it first. Tracking your time lets you know how much time you spend on each task hence giving you the information to make necessary adjustments.

Block out distractions

This could come in the form of your phone, people, and even social media. Creating these boundaries for yourself will allow you to focus on a particular task uninterrupted hence allowing you to stay on top of your schedule.

Set a time limit for each task

It may seem intimidating and overwhelming at first but it goes a long way in making sure that you don't get easily distracted or procrastinate.

Start by doing the most difficult thing on your list

Rather than spending the whole day or week postponing that one thing that you either hate doing or get intimidated by just start doing it and get it out of the way. You will feel relieved and motivated enough to carry out the remaining tasks

Set reminders and alarms

You can get so distracted with trying to carry out a particular task that you either forget to do another one or end up having such little time that you postpone it. Reminders and alarms will ensure that you only spend the time that was allocated to that particular task

Leave buffer time between tasks

Transitioning from one task to another can be very hard, leaving some time in between tasks for you to recharge can be very effective in ensuring that you achieve your goals.

Identify your productivity peak

Are you an early bird or a night owl? Finding out the times in which you are the most productive and attentive will assist you in planning your day.
