We have created this opportunity to further advance QAN’s mission of providing queer Africans in our community with inclusive, safe, affirming and engaging virtual spaces. If your application is selected, you will be provided with a $50 (USD) honorarium and you will be required to implement a virtual event within 3 weeks on the QAN platform. More instructions and next steps will be provided to those selected to proceed. There are no deadlines for applications as we will be accepting applications on a rolling basis throughout the year (hosting two virtual events every month). We will be selecting a total of 24 organizers/groups this year for this opportunity.

Your virtual event can be any of the following:

1. Game night

2. Workshop on any topic (makeup, fashion, dance, writing, photography, film, music production)

3. Album Launch or Listening party

4. Watch party (strictly only if copyright permission has been granted in written agreement)

5. Virtual Gallery

6. Information Session

And more (this is a non-exhaustive list).

Your event can focus on any of the following themes:

a. Art for Change

b. Feminist Technology

c. Climate Justice

d. Affordable Housing

e. Affordable Healthcare

f. HIV SRHR

g. Education Reform

h. Prison Abolition

And more (this is a non-exhaustive list).

This application is comprehensive as it includes questions that will allow us to properly vet virtual events. This means that your responses to this application will act as a project road map for you; thereby giving you everything you need to create, manage, facilitate and implement your event successfully. It doesn't matter if you have never organized or facilitated an event before as we will make sure that you have all the tools you need.

3. Please have a headshot of you ready. This will only be used for verification purposes and will never be shared without your consent.
