San Magnolia's Republic. This country has been besieged for a long time by its neighbor, the Giadian Empire, which developed a series of unmanned drones known as the Legion. After years of painstaking research, the Republic finally developed their own autonomous drones, transforming the one-sided conflict into a war without casualties—or so the government claims. In reality, there can be no such thing as a bloodless war. The "non-existent" Eighty-Sixth Sector lies beyond the fortified walls that protect the Republic's eighty-five territories. The young men and women of this forsaken land are dubbed the Eighty-Six and, dehumanized, pilot the "unmanned" weapons into battle... While on the battlefield, Shinn commands a detachment of young Eighty-Sixers. Lena is a "handler" who uses special communication to command the detachment from the remote rear. The final chapter of these two's harrowing and heartbreaking struggle begins!
